Parish Vision & Mission Statement

Lycoming Presbyterian Church lives to do three things:

  To introduce Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him;

  To deepen the faith and commitment of those who already know Him;

  To demonstrate Christ's way of love in service to the world.

   To all who would have their lives enriched by worshipping God in the beauty of holiness; to all who are weary and would find rest; to all who would lead a higher and more dedicated life of service to Christ; to all who may be strangers and have no Church home; to all who seek the abundant life; to all who wish to share in the proclamation of the good news of God’s love and redemption in Christ; this Church extends the friendliest of greetings and invites you to worship with us regularly.

Preaching Topic This Sunday

June 9     Worship Service at 10:45 AM.   Sermon Title: "Symbols of Pentecost", based on Acts 2:1-13Come and worship with us on this Pentecost Sunday, when we will also observe the Service of Holy Communion.  Pentecost is often spoken of as the birth of the Christian Church, when Jesus fulfilled His promise to His disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit to be among them.  Wow!  That was no small happening, as it caused the disciples to speak in languages they never had studied, and the Gospel was preached to everyone present.  All heard it in their own native tongue, and 3000 people were baptized on that day alone!

Church Night Out

Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 6 PM, at The Villa restaurant, located at 2016 East Third Street, towards the end of the Golden Strip.   Guests are encouraged and welcomed to attend.   This is a wonderful relaxing time for getting to know our church family, by way of conversation and fellowship.  If planning to attend, please sign up in our Church Lounge, or call the Church Office and leave a message: 570-326-9218.  Thank you.

Wednesday, June 26    Our Deacons play BINGO with the residents of the Presbyterian Home, 7 PM

Joint Picnic with people from Covenant Central Presbyterian Church

July 14, here in Colonial Park, starting at 2:30 PM.  There will be a time of visiting, eating, and playing games, like horseshoes, lawn games, card games, etc.  The event will last about two to three hours.  We are asking for a donation of $3 per person, to help defray the cost of the meat, rolls, & drink, plus you provide your favorite tureen to share.  We will need help putting tables & chairs outside that day after church.  So, please volunteer to help, & plan to participate in this time of Christian fellowship with one of our sister churches.  If there is inclement weather, the event will be held in Fellowship Hall.  If you plan to attend, please use the sign-up sheet in the lounge.  Sign up deadline is June 30th.
